James Mason

I did a portrait of one of my favorite actors, James Mason. I know he’s kind of an unusual subject to draw. His mouth gave me particular trouble because of shading and shape. This was done from an old Life Magazine photo.

I did the shading of his face a little differently, more like I would have done, if I’d drawn it in pen and ink. This is not a very good scan. Mason had an interesting jaw line and heavy brow.
